Remote Audio Surveillance from Android App - iDVR-PRO Security Camera DVRs
The iDVR-PRO Viewer mobile app for Android supports the ability to listen to audio surveillance from remotely over the Internet. App users can listen to their surveillance microphones live and also listen to audio that has been recorded to their DVR's hard drive. Audio can be synchronized with video from CCTV and HD security cameras. The latest iDVR-PROs support analog, AHD, and HD-TVI cameras. 720p and 1080p video resolution is supported.
Surveillance Microphone Wiring
There are several different methods to wire your microphone to your iDVR-PRO. Options include using RG59 Siamese cable, premade Siamese cable, a power supply box, and individual power supplies. Please refer to our wiring guide for audio surveillance microphones which contains instructions for all of these options.
DVR and Microphone Setup
To enable remote audio surveillance in the iDVR-PRO Android app, you must first correctly wire your mic to the DVR and enable network audio transmission. If you also want to be able to playback audio that is recorded on the DVR, you must also enable audio recording. You can follow the instructions on this page to setup audio transmission and recording.
Android App Operations
You can find the latest iDVR-PRO Viewer app downloads here. If you are not already familiar with the Android app, you can find more information about it here.
Once you connect to your DVR in the app, you will see a live camera view. The screenshot above shows a live camera view of camera 1 on our DVR. Notice the "Audio Off" button in the upper right of the screen.
When you tap on that button, the microphone selection menu is displayed. Now, you can select which microphone that you want to enable live audio for.
Audio surveillance can be enabled when viewing single or multiple cameras on the screen. However, it only makes sense to enable audio on one microphone. Selecting the mic is the same on the multi-view screens in the app.
The menu system and controls can be hidden in the app by single tapping on the screen. Users can make the menu / controls visible by tapping on the screen again.
Recorded Audio Surveillance Playback
Users can playback audio surveillance that has been recorded to an iDVR-PRO's hard drive as long as they enabled audio recordin on their DVR. When the app is in playback mode, the same Audio button appears in the upper right of the screen. Users can tap on it to select the mic channel that they want to hear playback on. The audio is synchronized with the recorded video surveillance.

Complete CCTV Systems
Did you know? CCTV Camera Pros can provide a complete surveillance system quote that includes any iDVR-PRO model with cameras, cables, connectors, power supplies, and monitors? We can even mix and match SD and HD security cameras because the latest iDVR-PROs are hybrid. They work with CCTV, AHD, and HD-TVI type cameras. As you have probably already seen on our website, we have 2, 4, 8, and 16 camera surveillance systems in pre-made packages. However, it is not possible for us to package up every combination and quantity of all the different camera models that we carry. So, we can also provide you with a custom quote with as many cameras as you need and a mix of any combination of camera model(s) based on your project requirements.
