16 Channel CCTV Multiplexer

The VM-16RT video mux, also known as a CCTV multiplexer, supports up to 16 channels of analog cameras or video from other analog devices using BNC connectors. BNC to RCA converters may be used for analog video devices that use RCA connectors and RCA cables. For CCTV cameras, BNC video inputs are typically used. The VM-16RT real-time video multiplexer has 16 BNC video inputs and 16 BNC video loop outputs. There are two BNC video outputs which can be used for multiple monitors, or one for a monitor, and one for a surveillance VCR. The VM-16RT is capable of controlling pan, tilt, zoom cameras (PTZ cameras) using the RS-485 terminals. A wireless remote control is included with the VM-16RT multiplexer which can be used to control switching the screen views and to access and control the on-screen display settings. The VM-16RT is a 16 channel video processor (video Mux) from CCTV Camera Pros used for analog surveillance camera systems. The wireless remote control that is included allows the operator to control all of the different video views supported by the unit as well as access the menu system to make configuration and display changes. This 16 channel Mux can also be operated by using the push-button controls on the front of the unit itself. You can see here that there are buttons to access and control the menu system as well as switch to any of the video display modes that the VM-16RT supports. On the back of the unit, you can see that there is are 16 BNC video inputs, one for each CCTV camera or another analog video device. There is also a video loop output for each channel. There are 4 RCA audio inputs, 1 RCA Audio out, a VCR in, VCR out, and monitor out. Lastly, there are RS-485 and RS-232 inputs to control PTZ cameras. For the next part of the video, I will use the included wireless remote control to demonstrate the various screen grids and views that are supported by the VM-16RT. Please note that only 4 cameras were connected to the multiplexer for this demonstration. First is the 16 Channel video view. Next Quad or 4-screen. Next dual screen or split screen. Note that the camera view automatically pans. I can easily select which cameras are displayed on each view with the remote control. I will switch between the 4 channels that I have cameras connected to. Next is picture in picture. Again, I can switch between which cameras are displayed. Next is dual picture in picture. 8 Camera view I will switch the camera that goes in the large screen in the center of this view, again using the wireless remote control. A 9 channel view is also supported but is not included in this video. The menu system is extremely easy to navigate using the wireless remote control. Simply press the menu button to access the main menu, then use the arrow keys to navigate and the enter key to adjust settings. This screen allows you to adjust the camera sequence and timing, also known as dwell time programming. Each camera's color and brightness can be adjusted individually. A buzzer can be set to go off as an alarm for a lost camera signal. All events are logged in the system. The menu button is pressed to exit the on-screen display and return to live video view.
