Technical Support: iDVR CCTV and HD Surveillance DVRs
This page contains technical support and setup information for iDVR CCTV and HD surveillance DVRs. This includes support for the following iDVR models: iDVR-E4, iDVR-E8, iDVR-E16, and iDVR-RT16. The original iDVR-E models were analog CCTV only, however the latest iDVR-E models are hybrid and can be used with both analog CCTV and HD CCTV cameras (AHD technology). The iDVR-RT16 is our original D1 real time DVR.
The original iDVR-E and iDVR-RT16 DVRs have a slightly different user interface than the latest iDVR-E hybrids and the generation just before the hybrids were released. This page contains support information for the legacy and current iDVR-E and iDVR-RT16 model DVRs.
The easiest way for customers to tell which iDVR they have is to compare the case of your DVR and to the images above. However, please note, the original iDVR-E and analog only DVR model just before the HD hybrids were released look the same (silver case above). So, to verify which support articles you should use, click the menu button on your DVR and enter your login password. Verify which screen you see when you first login to the DVR and compare it to the below images.
If the first screen that you see on your DVR looks like the image on the left, you have an original iDVR-E. If it looks like the one on the right, you have the latest user interface. Please note, that on the latest interface, when you select the setup icon in the middle of the screen, the following screen is the same as the image on the left. So, you must verify what is the first screen when you login.
DVR Viewer & Client Applications
Some of the client applications work on all iDVR models (new and legacy). For example, users can use the same iOS and Android apps to access all iDVR-E and iDVR-RT16 models.
