The 5MP-D5 is an HD turret security camera that supports 4 security camera analog video formats: AHD, HD-TVI, HD-CVI, and analog CCTV (CVBS). Please note that this camera also supports 4mp video resolution.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the factory default video mode for this camera is 5mp HD-TVI. If you need a different video mode set, you must tell us this i the order notes or call us. This camera DOES NOT have a video mode selector joystick like most of our other cameras.
This HD turret security camera can provide a complete overview of small to medium-sized rooms. Please check out the
sample HD surveillance images and 4 megapixel video surveillance video captured with this camera. The fixed 90-degree wide angle lens makes this camera a great choice to mount in the corner of most rooms. An IP66 weatherproof rated housing protects the vital components of the 5MP-D5 from harsh weather and ensures that it is a viable option to install outdoors. The tri-axis mount allows the installer to ceiling mount or wall mount the camera and pivot the lens in any direction.
The 5MP-D5 is a BNC security camera type which means that it is hard wired to a security DVR using
RG59 Siamese coaxial cable or pre-made BNC security camera cable. This is the same type of cable that is used to install standard definition analog CCTV cameras.
If you do not need to record video and would like to
connect this security camera directly to an HDMI TV for live viewing only, please check out this BNC to HDMI converter option or this 4 channel HD CCTV multiplexer.

iPhone App Remote Camera View
In our testing, we connected our 5MP-D5 to one of our
hybrid BNC camera DVRs.
Android Mobile App Remote Camera View
The camera is still connected to the DVR at our office and we are accessing the DVR using WIFI on our demo network. This works the same as viewing the camera from remotely over the Internet.
In addition to the remote viewing capability from iPhone and Android, users can also view their camera using Windows and Mac desktop software. You can learn about all of the
remote camera viewing apps and software here.
An optional
BNC to HDMI converter can be ordered with this camera. The converter allows you to connect your security camera to a TV via the HDMI input of your TV. In addition to the BNC video input on the converter, there is also a BNC loop output so that you can connect the camera to a DVR in addition to a TV / monitor. The BNC loop output is optional to use.
This device can be used solely as a way to connect your security camera to a TV for a live view only or you can also use the BNC output to also connect the camera's video to a second device, such as a DVR for recording video surveillance footage. You can see this in the above installation diagram.
How to Change Video Output
To change the video output mode of the 5MP-D5, press straight down on the joystick and the main menu will display (as seen above). Then navigate to the Video Output menu and press straight down on the joystick again.
Using the joystick's left and right selector, toggle between the HD modes and Video Standard until the desired mode is selected. Once the desired mode is selected, go to Return and press straight down to exit. Finally, back on the main menu, press straight down on the Save-Exit menu to finalize the video mode settings.
