The TAKEX PA-450PI is an indoor PIR motion detector that can be integrated with video surveillance systems, burglar alarms, lighting systems, and home automation applications. The PA-450PI is a pet immune PIR motion sensor which means that it is deigned not to be triggered by small animals under 40 pounds. This product is designed for indoor use. If you are looking for an outdoor model, please
check out the TAKEX MS-100E. The standard installation for this product is wall mount, however, you can add the optional ceiling mount if you prefer to mount the sensor the a ceiling.
CCTV Camera Pros is a factory authorized distributor for TAKEX. We have thoroughly tested this product with the surveillance DVRs and IP cameras that we supply. The NO / NC alarm output of the PA-450PI can be connected to the alarm input of a DVR or network IP camera. Motion that is detected can be used to trigger events such as camera recording, audible sirens, email, and mobile push message alerts on DVRs and IP cameras.
The PA-450PI uses a wide angle passive infrared sensor that detects motion up to 36 feet away.

PIR Motion Sensor / Surveillance DVR Integration
Integrating the PA-450PI with one of our
HD security camera DVRs is simple. The above image shows how to connect the motion detector to the alarm input. The alarm outputs of the PIR sensor are connected to alarm input port #1 on the DVR.. These sensors can also be used with NUUO PC based DVRs, Geovision PC based DVRs and any other type of DVR that accepts a dry contact NO / NC type of input.
You can learn
how to wire a motion sensor to the iDVR-PRO here. Instructions also show how to configure the DVR to take one or more actions based on the alarm triggered by the motion sensor. Some actions that can be taken are recording, buzzer, video pop-up, email alert, FTP image upload, and move PTZ camera to preset location.
If you prefer to mount the PA-450PI to a ceiling, you can purchase the optional PCW-401 ceiling mount and bracket. This is an option when you add the PA-450PI to your shopping cart. The PCW-401 has a swivel that lets you rotate the angle of the motion detector up, down, left, and right. The power and alarm wires are completely concealed inside the bracket. Please see the below ceiling mount installation images to see how we mounted a PA-450PI to the ceiling in our office.
Motion Detector Wiring
The above wiring diagram shows the screw terminals on the PA-450PI that are used to wire the motion detector to other devices. You can use18 gauge cable or 22 gauge cable from CAT5 for example. The power terminals can be connected to a DC power supply between 10 and 18V DC. CCTV Camera Pros includes a 12V DC transformer with this product. The dry contact alarm output terminals can be connected to the alarm input ports of devices such as burglar alarms, surveillance DVRs, network IP cameras, lights, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Etc. The dry contact tamper detection terminals can be connected to the same types of devices.
Motion Detector Integration with IP Camera
The PA-450PI can be connected to
IP cameras that have digital alarm input ports. CCTV Camera Pros has tested the PA-450PI with the following IP camera brands: Zavio, Geovision, Vivotek. Please note that only certain IP camera models have digital alarm ports. If you have any questions about this, please contact us.
