The VM-Q401A color quad processor is used in CCTV camera systems to take analog video input from up to 4 analog CCTV cameras (CVBS) and split / switch the video output based on the users preference. Typically, the VM-Q401A is used as a quad screen splitter (4 cameras on one screen), however, this CCTV quad allows the user to control the video display output using the following modes: quad split, full screen, PIP (picture in picture), dual screen (2 camera split), auto sequence.

The VM-Q401A can be used on its own as a stand alone video processor that controls video output to a monitor. The Q401A can also be used in conjunction with a video surveillance VCR recorder. The VM-Q401A quad video processor supports analog video resolution at 720x480 at 60hz for NTSC video format, and 720 x 576 at 50Hz for PAL analog video format systems. The VM-Q401A includes the power supply and a infrared wireless remote control which allows users to access all settings and controls.

The VM-Q401A color quad processor for video surveillance supports the following screen views: quad (4 camera view), split screen / dual camera view, single camera view, PIP (picture in picture), Dual PIP.
Some customers refer to a quad video multiplexer as a multiple BNC to HDMI converter (or multiple BNC to VGA converter).
Note: All of the below screenshots were taken using a VM-Q401A CCTV quad, various indoor and outdoor CCTV cameras from CCTV Camera Pros, and a 42" LCD monitor / TV. A camera was used to capture the screenshots on the screen of the 42" monitor. Actual images produced from the quad and viewed directly on a monitor are even better quality that what is seen below.

The above diagram shows how 4 CCTV cameras can be connected to a single BNC CCTV monitor using CCTV coax cable and a quad processor. please note that installers can also use this video splitter to setup a view for 2 cameras on one monitor.
