960H CCTV Cameras | Best 960H Security Cameras
960H cameras are the latest generation of high resolution / widescreen CCTV security cameras which support a minimum of 960 pixels of horizontal resolution. When designing a video surveillance system, these cameras are the best choice to install with a 960H CCTV DVR because they are capable of recording at 960H resolution (960 x 480 pixels) and take advantage of the camera's widescreen format.

CCTV Camera Pros almost always recommends 960H cameras to customers because they will work with all existing CCTV DVRs and in the future, most or all analog DVRs will move to the 960H widescreen standard. CCTV Camera Pros has actually been selling 960H CCTV cameras for much longer than we have been selling 960H DVRs. These high-resolution CCTV cameras were manufactured before 960H DVRs became available and being that they work with traditional D1 resolution (704 x 480) DVRs, there is no downside in buying the higher resolution CCTV camera.

960H security cameras were developed to take advantage of the 16:9 widescreen format of most modern monitors as well as the latest generation of 960H DVRs. 960H cameras use the same type of coax cable, BNC connectors, and power supplies as the traditional CCTV cameras that have been manufactured for the last 20 years (including modern D1 resolution CCTV cameras) 960H cameras are still compatible with 4:3 format DVRs and monitors. When a 960H camera is connected to a non-960H DVR the image simply gets compressed to conform to the maximum resolution that the DVR can handle.
