HD over Coax Security Cameras, HD BNC Cameras
Selectable AHD, HD-TVI, HD-CVI, Analog CCTV Video Modes
4-in-1 HD over coax security cameras are the ultimate in compatibility because they can be used with the following types of DVRs: AHD, HD-TVI, HD-CVI, or analog CCTV (CVBS) / 960H. Installers can very easily select the video mode using the small joystick that is connected to the camera's video cable.
These 4-in-1 hybrid BNC cameras can provide security system owners with an upgrade path to high definition if they currently use an analog CCTV DVR. Using the same 4-in-1 camera, an owner can use their current analog DVR and later purchase a high definition video recorder (AHD, HD-TVI, or HD-CVI compatible). When ready, the installer can easily switch the camera into the HD mode when the new DVR is in place.

The above image shows the video selector joystick on one of our 4-in-1 cameras. The joysticks are attached in-line with the video and power lead cable of the camera. Installers can change the video mode of the camera by holding the joystick in one of the 4 directions for 5 seconds. For example: UP = AHD, Down = HD-TVI, Left = HDCVI, Right = CVBS (analog CCTV).
Each camera model's selection directions are different. The selection modes are documented in the manual that is included and also on each product page for your reference. These joysticks also typically provide access to the camera's OSD configuration screen if applicable.
Coax Cable for HD over Coax Security Cameras
One of the advantages of HD over Coax security cameras is that they can use the same RG59 coax cable as traditional analog CCTV cameras and the cable runs can be just as long (max distance about 800 feet). Our RG59 Siamese cable options have been tested with our HD cameras and are guaranteed by CCTV Camera Pros to work with the 4-in-1 cameras that we supply.
HD over Coax Video Over CAT5 Cable
In addition to RG59 coax cable, HD cameras can also be wired using CAT-5 / CAT-5e cable by using video baluns. Video baluns convert the UTP cable in CAT5 to BNC connections on the camera and DVR end of the cable run. You can learn more about
