Megapixel IP Cameras vs. Analog HD CCTV Cameras
An
analog HD CCTV camera (BNC) is a type of megapixel camera that runs over Siamese coax cable and connects to the DVR using a BNC connector. IP cameras use CAT5e or CAT6 network cable. All megapixel cameras (including CCTV) have 1,000,000 or more pixels (1mp). Today, there are both BNC and IP megapixel cameras available in 1mp / 720p, 2mp / 1080p, 3mp, 4mp, 5mp, and 8mp / 4K resolution.
