Surveillance Video Playback on iOS App | iDVR-PRO H.264 CCTV DVRs
The iOS app for iDVR-PRO H.264 DVRs supports search and playback of recorded surveillance video footage from iPhone and iPad. Users can log in to one or more iDVR-PRO model CCTV DVRs (960H and D1 models supported) and access the recorded video on the DVRs hard drive. You can find the
960H iDVR-PRO CCTV DVRs here that this article is applicable to.
Users can search for video using two methods. First, users can select the date and time of the video that they wish to playback. The second way is to search through the DVR's video log for events such as motion detection or external alarm triggers.
When users connect to a DVR using the iDVR-PRO Viewer app for iOS, the default view is the live video view. This can be seen on the iPhone below. Please note that although we are using screenshots from the iPhone app, the app works exactly the same on iPad as well.
Users can toggle the menu of the app by single tapping on the screen. The below image shows the app with the menu side and bottom navigation menus visible. The menu along the left allows the user to select between single, four, nine, and sixteen camera views. Users can select these camera views in both live-video and recorded video playback modes. The bottom menu is used to access the DVR log, time / date search, and DVR setup screens.
Event Log View
Users can access the event log view by tapping on the LogView icon from the bottom navigation. The Log View screen lets users specify a date range and the type of event they are searching for, such as an alarm trigger, motion detection from a camera, and recording being triggered. If the user taps on any of the events from the log, the recorded video playback screen is displayed and the video begins playing from that point in time.
Time / Date Search
Users can access the date / timeline search by tapping on the Search icon on the bottom navigation. The timeline search screen lets users select a date and use the timeline scrubber to select an exact time. Users can then press the play button in the upper right and the recorded video from that time will begin playing.
CCTV Video Playback from iPhone
After the app user either selects an event from the log view or selects a time / date from the timeline search, the video playback screen is displayed and the recorded surveillance video begins to play. Users can use the player controls on the lower part of the screen to play the video in forward, reverse, fast forward, fast reverse, and pause the video. The fast forward and fast reverse speeds can be controlled by tapping on the controls multiple times.
When the user is finished playing back video, they can exit the playback screen and return to live camera view by tapping on the Live View button in the upper right.

Complete CCTV Systems
Did you know? CCTV Camera Pros can provide a complete surveillance system quote that includes any iDVR-PRO model with cameras, cables, connectors, power supplies, and monitors? We can even mix and match SD and HD security cameras because the latest iDVR-PROs are hybrid. They work with CCTV, AHD, and HD-TVI type cameras. As you have probably already seen on our website, we have 2, 4, 8, and 16 camera surveillance systems in pre-made packages. However, it is not possible for us to package up every combination and quantity of all the different camera models that we carry. So, we can also provide you with a custom quote with as many cameras as you need and a mix of any combination of camera model(s) based on your project requirements.
